Oscar pistorius was born on the 22nd of November 1986 in Pretoria. He was born without fibula in both legs, and with only two toes. When he was 11 months old his parents made the desicion to amputate his legs just below his knees. the doctors said oscar would never be able to walk properly ever again, and he definetly proved them wrong by becoming the double amputee world record holder. Oscar Pistorius has broken the world record 49 times. he is known as "the blade runner" or "the fastest thing on no legs" He went on to win the finals, with a record time of 21.97 seconds in the 100 metre race. as a small child, he told his father one day he would play in the super 8 rugby event. as a schoolboy he played rugby, water polo and tennis. in January 2004, he damaged his right knee on the rugby field. The doctors then recommended he switched to track. At 17 years, he ran the 100 metre in an open competition after training for two months. The world record was 12.2 seconds. He ran it in 11.51. In september 2008 he became the first Paralympian to win gold in all three events. He took the silver medal over 400 metres competing against able-bodied runners. His parents, Henke and Shelia, definetly have something to be proud about. Oscar went to the Pretoria Boy's High School. He has an elder brother, Carl, and a younger sister, Aimee. His girlfriend's neme is Vicky Miles, and have known each other since their school days. He has artificial blades that tighten from his knee to the ground. They are "Cheetah Flex-Foot". He has started debating whether or not he is allowed to compete against able-bodied athletes. One of his famous quotes are "You are not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have." Oscar Pistorius has broken the world record 49 times.
